If you like Unknown bands that have a tragic, yet confusing history that deals with messed up discographies, information, and Lost media, then this is for you. There is VERY little and VERY limited information about this band online and so all of this information will be copied and pasted from the sputnikmusic site entry about them.
The Be Happy Kids formed in June of 2010 after the members met each other in a music college course. They then formed The Be Happy Kids playing intense shows in music studios and college classrooms. The band came out in 3 Compilations and a Split with Sweetness&thelight within that summer and would release a compilation of the material known as "8 Songs CDr." it is one of the bands well known releases and is far a very rare one to find though it had 3 presses.
Unfortunately, In November 2010 the bassist, Hector Muñoz, would be murdered after being stabbed at a gas station in Los Angeles causing the band to take a quick break. They would later bring his cousin Carlos to play for the band and release a 3 song 7" inch entitled "Everything has its meaning, value and ending." This would be the first official release and would have a different sound to their 8 song CD-R release. The 7" would be dedicated to their bassist and friend, Hector, and written in the back of the vinyls said "Dedicated to Hector Munoz 1991-2010."
In May 2011, the band released their last 2 songs on a limited CD/10" playing 2 more last shows before breaking up in October of that same year. Once they broke up the band gathered all the songs and as a ritual for many of the DIY scenes, they released a discography, limited CD-R and DVD. The first press was limited to 50 CDs and came with a plastic sleeve. Information about reissues are currently unknown.
In April 2012 the band gathered and played 4 reunion shows along with releasing a 2012 Demo in limited CD-R and tape. However, there is a contradiction in the release as the Discog's page says that there was a planned reunion show but never happened. There was a total of 50 CDs planned for release but since there was no reunion show, only 4 CDs were actually made. Since then, there have been plans for a reunion or new release.

Despite this band being not all that old, there is barely any information about them online and their bandcamp is not at all reliable as it only contains Tunes For Bears To Listen to which is a band from Miami, Florida and NOT in the South West Area (they're still awesome tho.) I've tried to find more information about the band including messaging a member and the contributors but there seems to be nothing aside from the SputnikMusic entry.
